Shortly before his marriage to Meghan Markle, Prince Harry was reprimanded by Queen Elizabeth II. The reason ? The demands a bit too insistent of his future wife!

It's no secret Elizabeth II likes things to go the way she has chosen. Yet if there is one member of the British royal family who can get what he wants from his granny, it’s Prince Harry. Meghan Markle's husband had no trouble convincing his grandmother to let him leave the British monarchy last January, with Meghan Markle and their son Archie! Maybe the Queen probably wanted to avoid yet another argument with her favorite grandson? As revealed in the biography Finding Freedom, written by Carolyn Durrand and Omid Scobie, Prince William's brother would have been reprimanded by Elizabeth II before his nuptials with Meghan Markle. The former Duchess of Sussex absolutely wanted to wear an emerald-set tiara for her wedding on Saturday, May 19, 2018.

Only the queen decides

“Meghan can't have everything she wants,” Queen Elizabeth II is said to have hissed at her grandson, in comments reported by the Daily Mail, adding: “she will wear whatever tiara I decide”. Instead, Her Majesty loaned the former actress a magnificent tiara, set with diamonds and platinum, which had belonged to Queen Mary, wife of George V and grandmother of Elizabeth II. A possession of inestimable value, but which had still caused an argument between Prince Harry and Prince Philip's wife. Obviously, it was the queen who won!

Besides, she was not shy to point out to her grandson that she did not understand why Meghan Markle was so keen on having a veil. "Why did Meghan need a veil for the wedding, given that this is her second marriage?" She reportedly asked her grandson, adding that: "Meghan could be difficult". Claims from the former Suits star that shouldn't have helped ease tensions within the British monarchy!
